im 21 and i have no idea what the hell i'm doing
a list of 21 things that keep me sane, in honour of turning 22 this year
being 21 feels like an episode of girls if it was written by david lynch, and not in a good way.
here is a list of 21 things that have kept me (somewhat) sane:
daily yoga to my meticulously curated playlists
consuming older coming-of-age stories (e.g the worst person in the world, lost in translation, normal people, muriel’s wedding, sex and the city, fleabag)
perfecting my soft-boiled egg method (literally a year in the making….i have it perfected down to every single second)
having a ‘capsule’ makeup routine instead of having 100 different products
home cooking // trying new recipes
complimenting & chatting to strangers
putting together snack plates
leaving the house every singe day even to just walk around
solo cinema dates (& solo dates in general)
getting coffee/lunch with my grandmother
actually having breakfast instead of rawdogging an extra strong oat milk coffee
prioritising reading essays, non-fiction, and philosophy over fiction (although more specifically — younger/ya/romance fiction, the ‘booktok’ type)
ridiculously unnecessary luxuries — think; marvis toothpaste, mason person hairbrushes, high-quality bathroom linen, overpriced lingerie…
housekeeping & generally having pride in my home and my space
lymphatic drainage/gua sha/facial massages
waking up early (i’m talking 7-7.30 am…. i like to open my blinds before i go to sleep so that the sun wakes me up naturally)
my obsessively curated pinterest boards
maintaining small daily/weekly rituals
physically connecting with nature (e.g bare feet in the grass)
reading instead of doom-scrolling
constantly trying new cafes/op shops/restaurants/bars
p.s i have revamped my home page & about page a lil if you want to have a look around ;)
all my love,
kayley <3
